New Tune Tuesday - New Music Overload

It's Tuesday, and you know what that means: new music, bitches!! This week there's a little bit to appease just about everyone's musical appetite with new tunes from +The Strokes   and sneak peaks from  +Vampire Weekend  and Beyonce.  First, some light-hearted, good-natured rock and roll  as only they can do it. The Strokes' new album, Comedown Machine, is available for purchase on March 25, but you can stream the full album here  thanks to Pitchfork .  The alternative rock fest continues with two new tracks from Vampire Weekend. Their album, Modern Vampires of the City  is due May 7: around the same timing as new  +Fall Out Boy  and Fitz And The Tantrums. Give a listen to ' Diane Young ' and ' Step .' Personally, I'm feeling 'Diane Young.' It's got that familiar VW sound without being just a repeat of their past stuff, and I love the dirty beat. 'Step' is going to have to grow on me.  The Queen is

Last Wk in Pix 2x2 - I drink a lot.

I haven't been doing a great job of sharing pictures in my blog, so I have a good handful to share.   Last Saturday a bunch of us went to the #LaCanvas party. It was carnival themed and packed! DJs were great, paid entry got you free drinks and treats all night. Plus there were carnival games to play for prizes.  I won this penguin! Isn't he adorbz! He's kind of a badass too. Sonic and I attended a puppy brunch at my friend Karen's place. Sonic managed to pee and poop in her house, which was just great. Plus he ate one of the treats we brought for her dogs Jenny and Olly. Best houseguest ever.  I learned what lox is, and I put that shit all over my bagel! Then we went shopping with Chris. Someone said Sonic should be in movies. I agreed, and we started practicing.  This weekend was St. Patty's Day Weekend, so a lot of drinking took place.  Happy Hour: Irish Car Bombs: And classy concoctions:

New Tune Review - JT's 'The 20/20 Experience'

People of the world, contain yourselves! It has finally happened! +Justin Timberlake  's new album!  Officially it goes on sale next Tuesday, but you can stream the album (for free!) on iTunes now .  Let's step back several tormenting weeks prior to today when we received a sincere letter from Mr. Timberlake: An Open Letter to you (the fans): I hope this gets to you the right way. It’s the only way I know to do it. Some people may criticize me for the last 3 days. But it was fun, right?? Right?!?! Besides, I’d rather speak directly to all of you. And, who can knock me for having a little bit of fun with it? Well… No more teasing. Although, it was A LOT of fun. (Did I mention that I’m having fun with this?? Ha!) *Makes a serious face* So, here goes: This year is an exciting one for me. As you probably have heard through the “grapevine,” I’m gearing up for a big 2013. Back in June of last year, I quietly started working on what is now, my next journey

My First Rave - Swedish House Mafia Show Review

It was a dark and stormy night... in southern California. What the hell?  The luck of Little Baby Lisa struck again when she acquired free tickets to last night's  +Swedish House Mafia  show.   Do I like Swedish House Mafia? Can't say that I do. Do I love going to concerts? Damn straight. Would I turn down free tickets to a show? You must be out of your mind.  So we showed up to this wasteland of a "park" called the Los Angeles Historic State Park east of downtown LA. There were no jungle gyms. With the rain it was more of a gigantic field of mud. When we arrived an opener,  +Otto Knows  was on deck the stage and light show were pretty cool and it was fun to dance in a field full of other people who want to dance. Next up was Alesso and, my friends, it was really just more of the same. At least by this point the torrential* downpour had stopped.  *In Los Angeles a "torrential downpour" translates to light, scattered showe

The Last Week (or so) In Pix / 2x2

I know, I know. It's been awhile. I'm so sorry!  My excuse is either  a) I've been busy or  b) I've been lazy.  I'll let you pick.  I have a lot of shameless pictures of myself with semi-famous people from the #GBKOscars2013 suite. Get excited! Ben Schwartz and Josh Lawson from #House of Lies. These guys are really funny. I can't imagine how they work together everyday on set.  Khandi Alexandar is BEAUTIFUL! And she said she liked my hair.  Gregg Henry is playing with the blowdryer...and my hair. I'm not sure about his face. But this was pretty funny.  This, my friends, is my new husband.  Mizinga Mwinga. He is...attractive. I mean, come on, look at this guy. And he's so sweet to boot! We spent a few minutes talking about his sister and her hair and how the dryer can really be good for her and how he will be the best brother ever and how she would love me as a sister-in-law and how we're in love and we will be runnin
