Last week was STRESSFUL.  Work was the normal amount of unnecessary crap. Bad weather near my hometown was no fun at all.  Let's just say this long weekend could not have come at a better time.  FRIDAY; Raise A Glass For Oklahoma!  happened at SOUTH in Santa Monica. We are still waiting for the final report from the bar, but we are pretty sure we reached our goal to raise $1000 for Feed The Children in Oklahoma City. We had amazing raffle prizes, the bar is donating 15% of the night's sales, and a lot of Oklahomies showed up, which was just wonderful. And because the more we drank the more money the bar would donate...we drank a fair amount. SATURDAY & SUNDAY: Yoga did not happen. I tried really hard, but all of my donation drinking said no.  I finally got rolling in the afternoon...

You may have realized this from the name of my blog or due to the fact that you know my personally, but I'm from Oklahoma, born and raised. When I moved to California one of my old coworkers had one request: "When people ask you about Oklahoma, be proud. Don't talk bad about it. Tell them the nice things about your home state." I never forgot that. When people ask me why I'm in LA I tell them I wanted to get out of Oklahoma to experience something bigger, but that I love going back home. There are so many amazing things about Oklahoma that you can NOT get in Los Angeles: open skies, thunderstorms and fresh air just to name a few. (And REAL Snocones. Lovelies, I'm sorry.  It has been way too long since I've posted. It has nothing to do with you, and I don't love you any less.  You see, I've been preoccupied.
